Filipino bantamweight contender Stephen Loman was not totally surprised when Fabricio Andrade emerged as the winner over John Lineker in their recent title showdown, especially how he handled his distance game.
'Wonder Boy' Andrade became the new ONE bantamweight world champion after demolishing “Hands of Stone” Lineker in a fourth-round technical knockout win (corner stoppage) in the main event of ONE Fight Night 7 on Prime Video last February in Bangkok.
Andrade was crisp with his striking, going in and out with effectiveness, to deal Lineker so much damage that he could not go beyond the fourth round. Entering the fifth and final stanza, his corner saw it fit to call it a fight, seeing how its fighter was no longer in a position to effectively continue.

Stephen Loman said Andrade’s latest victory is a further testament to how he is a master of the distance game and that anybody who dares to challenge him should be ready for it.
The Team Lakay fighter shared with The MMA Superfan:
“We saw in his performance how he kept tagging away at Lineker and how he used his distance during the fight. Fabricio’s specialty is using the distance to set his knees up, that’s why he’s such an effective striker.”
Stephen Loman is set for a collision course with the newly minted ONE bantamweight world champion, as Andrade made it known that the next in line for him is 'The Sniper' in another world title showdown.
Stephen Loman was entertained by ‘all-out’ war between Fabricio Andrade and John Lineker
Filipino bantamweight contender Stephen Loman was impressed with the recent world championship encounter between Fabricio ‘Wonder Boy’ Andrade and John ‘Hands of Stone’ Lineker, who both went all-out and gave a great show.
Andrade emerged as the victor in the main event of ONE Fight Night 7 on Prime Video on February 24 in Bangkok to become the new ONE bantamweight world champion. It was a conclusive ending after their first match for the title ended in a no-contest in October 2022.
Speaking to The MMA Superfan, Stephen Loman said the Andrade-Lineker rematch exceeded his expectations. ‘The Sniper’ said:
“I was surprised that the fight went back and forth because the first fight seemed like there was still some sort of feeling-out process. But this rematch, wow! They really let it all out and they really wanted to knock each other out. That’s why I was so surprised because you can really feel the intensity of the world title fight.”

Stephen Loman was interested in the outcome of Lineker-Andrade II as he was the consensus pick to be next for the winner of the fight. “The Sniper” was last in action in November, defeating former ONE bantamweight world champion Bibiano 'The Flash' Fernandes by unanimous decision at ONE on Prime Video 4.
