Stephen Loman offered former ONE bantamweight world champion John Lineker some friendly advice ahead of his massive ONE world title rematch with Fabricio Andrade.
Lineker will meet Andrade once again in the ONE Fight Night 7 on Prime Video headliner on February 24. The mission for Lineker will be to regain the bantamweight crown he lost on the scale ahead of their first meeting in October. Ahead of the bout, the potential next man up for a world title opportunity, Stephen Loman, offered some advice to Lineker going into the biggest bout of his storied career:
“I think Fabricio Andrade’s trash talk did have a little effect on John Lineker... He should have never let it affect him. I’ve been the target of trash talk before, but I never really tried to match anyone for it. Words can really affect your performance if you let it."
He added:

“If an opponent gets to you through words alone, and you try to match it, your performance in the fight won’t be at a hundred percent. You already lost the mental battle even before the fight started. Whatever trash talk is thrown, never absorb it. Just focus on the fight so that your performance will always be at a hundred percent. Don’t ever think about what your opponent says about you.”
ONE Fight Night 7 is available live and for free to all Prime Video subscribers in North America.
Stephen Loman marvels at the impressive power of John Lineker
John Lineker has more than earned his iconic nickname. Known by his moniker ‘Hands of Stone’ the world over, the former ONE bantamweight king has laid waste to some of the biggest names in the division, including Kevin Belingon and Bibiano Fernandes, by way of knockout.
Continuing his conversation with The MMA Superfan, Stephen Loman marveled at the impressive power of John Lineker.
"If you get hit with even just one of those hooks, like a really good and crisp one to the jaw, then you’re in trouble. That’s one of the hardest shots to take. You have to hope that when you get hit, you won’t get too dizzy and can quickly recover."
Loman continued, saying:
"Lineker always gets behind his hooks and he can put them into his combinations easily. He really uses his skills as a boxer during his fights."
