Stephen Loman is grateful to John Lineker for exposing Fabricio Andrade’s weak points after watching the two bantamweights collide at ONE Fight Night 7.
Apparently, Fabricio Andrade has been so focused on his stand-up and striking that his wrestling has become his ultimate weakness. ‘The Sniper,’ potentially the next bantamweight world title challenger, broke down the world title fight between John Lineker vs. Fabricio Andrade II with precise attention to the latter’s center point of weakness.
He told The MMA Superfan:
“Yeah, I was surprised that Lineker used his wrestling more in this fight. He also had a great set-up for his takedowns because he went forward with his boxing and then he’d transition to his wrestling quickly.

He added:
"I was like, wow, I didn’t expect that because he needed just a bit of forward pressure then he’ll immediately take the fight to the ground. He caught Fabricio with his wrestling, and he has a very good wrestling game too.”
During his time in ONE Championship, Loman has emerged as one of the best and most dominant wrestlers in the division. He fought against the likes of Yusup Saadulaev, Shoko Sato, and Bibiano Fernandes to earn a shot at the world title.
When it comes to a potential showdown with newly-crowned bantamweight king Fabricio Andrade, Loman is confident he will execute his wrestling more successfully than Lineker. After all, he beat a high-level BJJ grappler in Fernandes and rag-dolled him for 15 minutes straight.
So, the less time Andrade spends on his feet, the more confident Loman will be to win the fight by decision. Therefore, an Andrade vs. Loman matchup will undeniably be fascinating since they’re both accustomed to dominating their opponents from start to finish.
Fabricio Andrade speaks out on happiness of becoming a world champion at the age of 25
Newly-crowned ONE bantamweight king ‘Wonder Boy’ Fabricio Andrade is still pinching himself after a week of becoming a world champion.
Following an inconclusive ending to his first encounter with John Lineker, the young Brazilian finished what he started with a TKO (corner stoppage) victory after four grueling rounds of action.
Grateful to have achieved the highest accolade in his entire sports career, ‘Wonder Boy’ told his fans on Instagram:
“I dreamed of this moment for a long time. What a happiness to be called a world champion at the age of 25. #longlivetheking.”
MMA fans are looking forward to his expected world title clash with Filipino rising star Stephen Loman. Both have yet to meet inside the circle, so there are a lot of questions that need to be answered. Which bantamweight is better? Andrade or Loman?
