Stephen Thompson announces return to action

There has been an influx of fight announcements in recent times and Stephen Thompson has piled onto that with an exciting announcement about his next outing inside the octagon.

From the moment he first stepped foot into the octagon, 'Wonderboy' captured the attention of countless fans with his calculated but deadly style of fighting. He has amassed a plethora of memorable moments inside the cage but has unfortunately never managed to capture gold up to this point in his UFC career.

In a post on social media, Stephen Thompson revealed that fight news will be coming soon and that he is thrilled with the matchup, meaning viewers could be in for another all-time affair.

"Fight news coming soon!! Excited for this one!.. [I will be competing] before International Fight Week! I want to fight a few times this year, Lord willing."

Thompson always looks to produce something special and loves being involved in striking spectacles, but that wasn't the case when he came up against both Gilbert Burns and Belal Muhammad in back-to-back losses.

After coming up short against the relentless grapplers, the 40-year-old was pitted against fan-favorite Kevin Holland. In a bout that had high expectancy, it sure did live up to its name by providing fans with a fight-of-the-year affair that ended by corner stoppage ahead of the fifth round.
