Stephen Thompson weighed in on the subject of retirement from combat sports.
'Wonderboy' recently did an interview with CBS Sports. He touched upon various topics, including his upcoming fight and his motivations.
Speaking on the topic of retirement, Thompson said that as long as he feels healthy, he will continue with his career. The 39-year-old added that if his father Ray Thompson, who also happens to be his coach, asks him to hang up his gloves, he would oblige:
"As long as I'm feeling healthy and not taking too much punishment, I want to continue to do what I do. And I listen to my coach, my dad has been a part of my camp since day one and he probably knows me more than I know myself and me being a fighter, I wanna keep fighting and we'll ignore sometimes the fact that maybe we shouldn't. So, when he says I'm done, I'm done," said Stephen Thompson.
