Claressa Shields recently sent fight fans into a frenzy after claiming she could beat Jake Paul in a boxing match. Shields also expressed confidence that she could pull this off with ten-ounce gloves and with no headgear.

During a recent interview with Overtime Boxing, the women's boxing icon questioned how Paul's skills would hold up against her in the squared circle and cited her experience in the ring. She said:

" I would beat him in a fight, and you know that. Yeah, absolutely [Beat him in ten-ounce gloves and no headgear]. I’m a big woman. The biggest and strongest man doesn’t win all the fights. So what’s the difference here? I’ve been boxing for 18 years. 18... I’ve got you, he’s got a d*ck, I’ve got a v*gina. I get it. But what about the skills I have? That doesn’t matter? He’s got to be able to break me down, and he has to be able to hit me."

After @HappyPunch shared a clip of the interview in an X post, fans flocked to the comments section to express their thoughts.

Claressa Shields opens up about her motivation to dominate women's boxing

Claressa Shields recently spoke about her drive to continue excelling at boxing and clarified that she won't be retiring anytime soon. The two-time Olympic gold medalist also took a moment to reflect on the challenges she had to face on her journey and overcoming every speed bump that stood in her way.

Speaking to ex-UFC champions Kamaru Usman and Henry Cejudo on the Pound 4 Pound podcast, Shields opened up about her boxing career and said:

"I knew that I would be the greatest woman boxer in history. I knew that no girl could beat me. But I didn't know the recognition, the respect, the money, the biopic, like, I didn't know this stuff would happen. When I hear myself say, '15-time world champion', I kind of giggle a little bit. When does this end? How much a** can you kick? The fire inside of me is still burning to fight, so that's why I'm here and I think it's burning until I'm 38 years old."
