Joe Rogan discussed the behind-the-scenes "Devil's Deals" taking place in the entertainment industry.
Earlier this week, Rogan released episode #2240 of 'The Joe Rogan Experience.' The UFC commentator's guests were Academy Award winners Quentin Tarantino and Roger Avary, who collaborated on the all-time great film 'Pulp Fiction.'
Tarantino and Avary discussed various topics about how the film-making industry works, especially in Hollywood. Tarantino started an intriguing portion of the episode with the following quote:
"The term in Hollywood is he who has the stronger point of view in the room wins. Executives don't have the strongest point of view. The maverick artist who can only hear the sound of his own voice, he definitely has the strongest post of view. but it's refreshing for them." [1:06:20-1:06:45]

Avary responded to Tarantino's point of view by saying:
"Invariably they hire you because you scare them a little. You're a little scary and they want to be a little thrilled by that. Like a girlfriend, they want to change you. They think they're going to make you normal. Then it falls on you to just stay true to that initial guy who was in the room." [1:06:45-1:07:07]
Rogan later addressed Avary's perspective by referencing Dave Chappelle, who's overcome controversy in the entertainment industry:
"What you were saying is exactly what happened to Dave [Chappelle]. The Chappelle Show. They loved him, he's this wild dude and then all of a sudden, this is too wild, this is becoming really successful. We can change you, They wanted him to stop saying the N-word. They wanted him to stop a bunch of different things on the show. They literally gave him the Devil's Deal. We're going to give you $50 million and this is what you're going to get. He's like, No, I quit.'" [1:08:36-1:09:06]

Joe Rogan tells Quentin Tarantino and Roger Avary his opinion on Jan. 6 riots
Joe Rogan's podcast episode with Quentin Tarantino and Roger Avary expanded into topics outside of the entertainment industry. At one point, the trio discussed the infamous Jan. 6 event in 2021 that featured right-wing supporters storming the Capitol Building in support of Donald Trump.
Rogan had this to say about the controversial event:
"In the most heavily armed nation in the world, why would you have an insurrection with no guns? Those guys weren't planning on an insurrection and then you have the factor that there were gagents in the crowd, and we don't know how many. There's government agents in the crowd that were inciting people to go in. That's what they do." [1:37:50-1:38:21]
The Jan. 6 debacle was a result of Donald Trump losing the 2020 U.S. Presidential election. Earlier this year, Trump won the latest election, making him the 47th President when he was inaugurated in January 2025.
