"Styles make fights" - Danial Williams explains why Rodtang-Takeru super fight is a dream matchup for fight fans

Danial Williams believes that one of the most highly anticipated fights in ONE Championship history is guaranteed to deliver.

Fight fans have waited a long time to finally see two of the biggest strikers collide in a fight that many thought would never happen.

When Japanese kickboxing star Takeru Segawa signed to ONE Championship, it meant one thing, we may finally see him face off with Muay Thai king Rodtang Jitmuangnon.

The pair were matched up for ONE 165 at the start of this year but the fight didn't come to fruition after Rodtang suffered an injury and was replaced by Superlek.

Since then, they have come together several times for heated staredowns and exchanges that have only increased the hype for this dream fight.

In a recent exclusive interview with Sportskeeda MMA, Williams spoke about why in his opinion, this fight is such an exciting prospect.

He believes that it's the similarities between them rather than the differences that makes this such an ideal match-up:

"Styles make fights. These two - almost exactly the same. Similar name, similar style, similar level of expertise. They both can also take a hit, they've got a granite chin. I just think it's going to be insane."

Danial Williams knows what it is like to test the strength of Rodtang

When Danial Williams speaks about the style, expertise and toughness of Rodtang Jitmuangnon, he's talking from experience.

'Mini T' made his ONE Championship debut against 'The Iron Man' back in April of 2021 where he came up short but made a big impression.

He's now back in action at ONE Fight Night 26 for another fan-friendly match-up between him and Thongpoon PK Saenchai on Dec. 6 at Lumpinee Stadium.

There's plenty for striking fans to be excited about in the coming months, that's for sure.
