Jackie Buntan recently explained why her kickboxing blockbuster with Anissa Meksen will be one for the history books on November 8. The Filipina-American standout is set to lock horns with the French-Algerian superstar for the inaugural ONE women's strawweight kickboxing world title at ONE 169 in Bangkok, Thailand.
It's been a long time coming for these two top female strikers. They were initially scheduled to clash over the summer at ONE Fight Night 23, but it unfortunately fell through when Buntan announced an injury.
With Jackie Buntan medically cleared for this exciting clash of styles, there's a sense of urgency from her to get onto the Lumpinee stage, and perform one of her greatest kickboxing matches yet.
Incorporating elements of traditional Muay Thai into the foray, combined with Meksen's offensive-minded game plan, Buntan is certain that they will draw in the crowds with their unique fighting styles.

Speaking to ONE ahead of her world title war with Meksen, Buntan said:
"I mean, it's the cliche of saying styles make fights and you have two women at the top of their game with two different styles putting it all on the line for a five-round war."
ONE 169 airs live in U.S. primetime on November 8 via Amazon Prime Video in North America.
Jackie Buntan reveals straightforward game plan to become the first female strawweight kickboxing world title holder in ONE Championship
Jackie Buntan is heading towards new territory as she prepares to take on one of the most feared and accomplished kickboxers on the planet.
As Buntan mentioned in past interviews, she likes to push the envelope and try new things like a true martial artist. Preparing for Meksen, Buntan trained with former kickboxing and Muay Thai world champion 'JT' Janet Todd, to sharpen her striking.
What Buntan hopes to accomplish out of all this, is to prove that she's got what it takes to be the inaugural strawweight kickboxing world champion.
Revealing her game plan for ONE 169 inside the Lumpinee Stadium, she told ONE:
"Showcase new adaptability, be better than my last performance, and win against one of the best kickboxers."
