Robert Whittaker recently expressed his displeasure with Daniel Cormier for sharing a picture of Whittaker's injured mouth on social media.
Whittaker made a humorous remark that the injury was more serious than it appeared. Owing to Cormier's actions, the former middleweight champion received condolence texts from everyone.
For context, in his most recent octagon outing at UFC 308 last year, Whittaker faced Khamzat Chimaev in a middleweight bout in order to get back in title contention. However, Chimaev's wrestling prowess was too much for 'The Reaper', as the undefeated contender took Whittaker to the ground in the opening round and submitted him via rear-naked choke.
Whittaker had a mouth injury as a result of Chimaev's tight grip, causing his teeth to dislocate. During the post-fight broadcast, Cormier, who was on the commentating duties, shared a gruesome image of the Australian's broken jaw.

In a recent appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show, Whittaker voiced his frustration with Cormier for making the picture of his mouth injury viral on social media, saying:
''I was super annoyed. It’s such a scummy thing to do. It’s like, the doctor took a photo of my mouth and said he was going to go show Dana [White]. So, that he knows what’s up. I thought, ‘Cool, do that'. DC took a photo off the other guy’s phone to post all of his socials. Is that not scummy?...I didn't care that much, it looked worse than it did...this thing is that couse it was posting all over the place, I was getting condolences messages. People thought I was dead. I would have liked to control the reaction better, but it is what it is.''

Robert Whittaker opens up about his rivalry with Israel Adesanya
In the aforementioned conversation with Ariel Helwani, Robert Whittaker discussed his friendship with Israel Adesanya, namely how the two moved from foes to friends. Notably, Whittaker was spotted training with Adesanya on 'The Last Stylebender's' YouTube channel ahead of their upcoming fights.
Whittaker made the amusing comment that he would have harmed Adesanya at one point in his career:
''I think we’re both just in good places in our careers right now... It was kind of surreal… We kind of like being rivals as well. That kind of rivalry, it just set the stage for a long leg between me and Izzy. It was good to kind of, hash that out. I wouldn’t say it was personal. But, I’m pretty sure in 2019 if I could’ve hit him with a car, I would have. Like, not kill him, but a little bump. You know what I mean?”
