After compiling a Muay Thai/kickboxing record of 110-34, Superbon made his ONE Championship debut in July 2020. The Singha Mawynn fighter started his promotional tenure with a statement by taking out 8x kickboxing and Muay Thai world champion Sitthichai Sitsongpeenong.
Superbon’s win against Sitthichai led to two career-defining matchups against Giorgio Petrosyan and Marat Grigorian. He passed the first test with flying colors, securing the inaugural featherweight kickboxing world championship with one of the greatest knockouts in ONE history against Petrosyan.
Five months later, Superbon defended his throne for the first time by taking out Grigorian. The Thai superstar wouldn’t fight again for nearly fourteen months, returning against Allazov at ONE Fight Night 6 on Prime Video. The question is, what’s next for the former 2x featherweight kickboxing king?
What’s next for Superbon Singha Mawynn?
Superbon Singha Mawynn doesn’t have a fight booked, but there are several options for what’s next. It’s unclear if Superbon will get an instant rematch against Chingiz Allazov, but there is an argument that he needs a win before another world championship fight.
If Superbon doesn’t fight Allazov next, fans have been buzzing to see him take on number five-ranked Tayfun Ozcan. ‘Turbine’ holds a promotional record of 1-2, with his last fight being a loss against Marat Grigorian in September 2022. A matchup between Ozcan and the former featherweight world champion would be a stylistic masterpiece.
Meanwhile, Superbon could rematch Grigorian or Giorgio Petrosyan, which would be must-see matchups. Regardless of the opponent, the Thai superstar always shows up ready for a war, making him one of the most intriguing kickboxers on the ONE Championship roster.
