A year removed from her controversial last fight, 'Supergirl' Anna Jaroonsak said in hindsight it was amazing to see the toughness she showed against Ekaterina Vandaryeva in their first encounter.
Having had the chance to review the tape several times since, 'Supergirl' felt a lesser fighter could have just gone through the motions and coasted along with what she had to go through – but not her.
Of course, some fight experts and fans had their own say on what happened, something the Thai fighter would rather leave as is and just move forward.

She recently shared what she went through in her previous fight to ONE Championship, while vowing to give a better performance in her upcoming rematch with Vandaryeva.
The Thai fighter said:
“During the fight, I got hit and my ear was bleeding. If you noticed, you can see that I kept touching my ear during the fight. At first, I was really scared but I decided to ignore the pain. I tried to keep my head and gave my best in the final round. I just told myself to go on.”
She added:
“At that time, the only thing I had was courage. And finally, I won. And every time when I rewatch that fight, I was amazed how I could take a lot of her shots and still stand fine. This time, I don’t think she will be able to hurt me.”
'Supergirl' and Vandaryeva will re-engage at ONE Fight Night 6 on January 13 (US primetime) in Bangkok. The event is live and free for North American fans with an active Prime Video subscription.
“I was crying like a baby” - 'Supergirl' on how she dealt with fan backlash after first fight with Ekaterina Vandaryeva
Muay Thai strawweight ‘Supergirl’ Anna Jaroonsak is already past the rough treatment she got from fans following her last fight and is now using it as motivation in further establishing her career in ONE Championship.
To recall, the young warrior was criticized by fans for what they perceived to be a subpar performance from her in her split-decision victory over Ekaterina Vandaryeva a year ago, with some even saying the result should have gone the other way around.
The Thai strawweight fighter recounted to ONE Championship how she dealt with the rough treatment she got in the aftermath of the fight:
“I was crying like a baby. I couldn’t even watch the match. I shut myself in the room and told my sister to turn off my phone because I didn’t want to accidentally read comments on social media anymore. That made me understand why movie stars or artists get depressed from trash comments.”
'Supergirl' makes her circle return at ONE Fight Night 6 on January 13 in a rematch with Vandaryeva, even more motivated to prove her true worth as a fighter.
