Muay Thai strawweight fighter, ‘Supergirl’ Anna Jaroonsak, has been preparing hard for her fight at ONE Fight Night 6 this week that has seen her train along the way with noted coach Trainer Gae.
Jaroonsak shared that she learned a lot and also had fun during the training session she had with the personal coach of Superbon Singha Mawynn, the reigning ONE featherweight kickboxing world champion.
She believes the session with Trainer Gae only prepared her for more when she battles with Belarusian kickboxer Ekaterina ‘Barbie’ Vandaryeva on January 13 in Bangkok. The Thai warrior told ONE Championship:

“I also had a chance to train with Trainer Gae [Superbon’s personal trainer]. He has a very firm stance. When I kicked him, I was the one who bounced off. Training with him was so exhausting, but I had a lot of fun.”
Supergirl and Vandaryeva will battle in a strawweight Muay Thai contest, a rematch of their first encounter in January 2022 at ONE: Heavy Hitters, where the Thai fighter won by way of a controversial split decision.
Not many were impressed with her performance despite the win, with some going as far as to say Vandaryeva should have won. Supergirl is looking to silence her doubters and critics by coming up with a better showing when she returns to action.
ONE Fight Night 6 is live and free for North American fans with an active Prime Video subscription in U.S. primetime.
Supergirl reveals she was hurt by comments made by her own Thai people about her last fight
While she won her last fight, Thai fighter 'Supergirl' Anna Jaroonsak admitted that it stung in the aftermath because of the backlash she received, especially from comments made by her own Thai people.
The Thai fighter was taken to task for her perceived underperformance in her Muay Thai fight against Ekaterina ‘Barbie’ Vandaryeva in January last year at ONE: Heavy Hitters, which was settled by split decision in her favor.
Fans, in particular, were harsh with their comments, saying the young athlete did not deserve the win and the result should have gone the other way around. She told ONE Championship that it was tough to deal with early on, saying:
"What got me down the most was trash comments. Most of the comments from foreigners were okay. But from Thai people, some comments were harsh and hurt me. I’d never felt in such a situation. I couldn’t handle those criticisms."
Now past that unpleasant episode of her career, Supergirl is looking forward to redeeming herself in her rematch with Vandaryeva on January 13 at ONE Fight Night 6 in Bangkok with a performance that fans can better appreciate.
