'Supergirl' Anna Jaroonsak has recently fallen in love with Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
Whilst she had to put her training on hold to focus on Muay Thai, the strawweight plans on returning to the mats and potentially transitioning to MMA at some point in the future.
Crediting her sister for getting her hooked on the sport, Jaroonsak spoke about her new love for grappling in an interview with ONE Championship:
“At first, I tried BJJ just for fun, but now I’m starting to get addicted to that. I saw my sister practicing all the time. When I tried to learn it, I found that it wasn't as difficult as I thought. In fact, my sister and I began to practice BJJ together from the start, but I paused it because I had to focus on Muay Thai, while my sister decided to go for MMA. Maybe I will compete in MMA in the future.”

'Supergirl' wouldn’t be the first and certainly not the last striker to think about potentially transitioning to MMA at some point in her career. The same can be said for some of ONE’s premier submission grapplers.
At ONE Fight Night 6, Jaroonsak will return to face Ekaterina 'Barbie' Vandaryeva in a rematch of their first meeting almost exactly a year ago. After the bout ended in a controversial split decision, the Thai striker will look to get her hand raised definitively and put the past behind her.
“Those knees are like a third fist” - Fans react to Supergirl Jaroonsak’s piercing knee strike
'Supergirl' Jaroonsak is one of the most dynamic and lethal strikers competing under the ONE Championship banner. Utilizing her tall frame and extreme dexterity, she has a unique striking arsenal that not many can compete with.
One such weapon that she utilizes with devastating impact is her knee strike to the body, which she shares with her sister, 'Wondergirl'. Whilst a regular Muay Thai knee to the body would be a simple upward and diagonal path, 'Supergirl' uses her physical attributes to enhance the technique.
Lifting her knee high above her own hip, she then uses the knee like a Muay Thai push kick, driving it in a straight line to push her opponents back.
ONE posted a video of her connecting it in the gym and in a live fight:
"From the gym to the Circle, those knees are piercing 😳 Can “Supergirl” bring Ekaterina Vandaryeva to her knees in their heated rematch on January 13 at ONE Fight Night 6? 👊 @supergirl_jaroonsakgym"
