Muay Thai strawweight fighter 'Supergirl' Anna Jaroonsak appreciates ONE Championship’s push to provide equal opportunities for all athletes under its fold and said it is a boon to female fighters in Thailand like her.

She shared that in their country, very few opportunities are given to women fighters. But thanks to ONE’s efforts, they get a platform to showcase what they are capable of and make a living out of it.

In an interview with ONE Championship, Supergirl said:

“There are few opportunities in Thailand for female fighters. Some events do not allow female athletes to participate in competitions. We don't have a stage to fight. Therefore, the fact that ONE offers this kind of stage and this high compensation creates a very big opportunity for Thai female fighters.”

'Supergirl' is among the Thai female fighters who have made a name for themselves under ONE. The list also includes her sister 'Wondergirl' Nat Jaroonsak and former two-sport world champion Stamp Fairtex.

She is hoping that more fighters like her will emerge from Thailand and compete in ONE Championship.

The young warrior returns to action on January 13 at ONE Fight Night 6 in Bangkok in a rematch with Belarusian fighter Ekaterina ‘Barbie’ Vandaryeva. The Thai star took the first encounter a year ago by way of a split decision that was considered quite controversial.

ONE Fight Night 6 will take place at the Impact Arena and is live and free for North American fans with an active Amazon Prime subscription.

Anna ‘Supergirl’ Jaroonsak wants a clear winner in Ekaterina Vandaryeva rematch - “It doesn’t matter if I win or lose”

Anna Jaroonsak’s split decision victory over Ekaterina Vandaryeva last year was deemed highly controversial. The Thai fighter does not want anything like that to happen as they re-engage later this week.

‘Supergirl’ hacked out a narrow win over ‘Barbie’ at ONE: Heavy Hitters. In the aftermath, however, fight experts, as well as fans, felt she fought below par, and it should have been Vandaryeva who won.

The Thai warrior admitted that she took the criticism hard and cried a lot over the backlash she received. As she heads into their upcoming rematch, the Thai fighter has vowed to erase all doubts about her abilities and is bent on going all out, regardless of whether she wins or loses.

‘Supergirl’ told ONE Championship:

“What hurt me from the last fight was not the opponent. I don’t have any problem with ‘Barbie.’ I want the result to be crystal clear this time so there won’t be any room for arguments. It doesn’t matter if I win or lose, but it must be clear-cut. This time, I am so determined to put on the show. I’d like to show my full capacity.”

At ONE Fight Night 6, the promotion’s first live event offering for the year, ‘Supergirl’ is looking to win her third straight fight in ONE.
