At ONE Fight Night 8 on Prime Video, ONE flyweight kickboxing world champion Superlek Kiatmoo9 was forced to adapt in the moment.
‘The Kicking Machine’ was scheduled to make the first defense of his world title in the main event against flyweight Muay Thai king Rodtang Jitmuangnon. With fans counting down the days until the striking super fight, the news that Rodtang had suffered an injury was devastating for all parties.
In his place, Danial Williams stepped into the main event on late notice to face the world champion with nothing to lose.
Whilst the champ produced an absolutely dominant performance, capping it off with a third-round knockout, he has admitted that his lack of preparation for his opponent meant that he had a slow start to the fight.

In an interview with the South China Morning Post, Superlek was critical of his opening round:
“Well I will say that I know Danial Williams not too well, as I said it was a little bit last minute. The first round was a little difficult for me because his style was different from what I had planned the previous fight.”
