'The Kicking Machine' Superlek Kiatmoo9 is looking to add a kickboxing world title to his already impressive career. The Thai athlete will fight for the vacant ONE flyweight kickboxing world title at ONE Fight Night 6 on Prime Video.
Originally, the January 13 fight card was booked to see 'The Kicking Machine' face Ilias Ennahachi for the flyweight kickboxing crown. However, Ennahachi had to vacate his belt due to weight issues. Now, Superlek will instead face Spain’s Daniel Puertas for the throne.
In an interview with ONE Championship, the Thai fighter insisted that he is completely comfortable with the change of opponents. Comparing Puertas to the former world champion Ennahachi, 'The Kicking Machine' said:
"Daniel Puertas is an aggressive fighter who loves to walk toward his foe, while Ilias’ style is hit-and-move. I think it is easier to fight with Daniel than Ilias because I can choose what I should hit and I can read his movement easier."

At the age of just 27, Superlek has more than one hundred bouts to his name, several world titles in Muay Thai, and soon plans on earning a kickboxing world championship in ONE.
Fans are no doubt excited to see 'The Kicking Machine' battle Spain's Daniel Puertas for the vacant ONE flyweight world championship at ONE Fight Night 6. The January 13 fight card is live and free for North American fans with Prime Video.
Superlek Kiatmoo9 understands Ilias Ennahachi's decision
It is not a light decision to vacate a world championship. Ennahachi vacated his gold due to struggling with the weight cut, and Superlek understands the decision.
Speaking to ONE, the Thai athlete said:
“I feel a bit disappointed that I can’t have a showdown with Ilias. I have been waiting for this rematch for two years. But I respect his decision.”
Ilias Ennahachi and 'The Kicking Machine' originally faced each other in 2021, with the former earning a unanimous decision victory.
Superlek added:
"He realizes that he couldn’t make weight. If he ignores this, it may adversely affect the organization, and his fans may be disappointed by him. But if we have a chance to face each other again, I am happy with that.”
While 'The Kicking Machine' will be unable to avenge his loss, he will instead face the dangerous Daniel Puertas with the vacant ONE flyweight kickboxing crown on the line.
