At ONE Fight Night 8 on Prime Video, Superlek Kiatmoo9 successfully defended his ONE flyweight kickboxing world championship for the first time with a third-round knockout over Danial Williams.

Whilst the world champion was happy with his own performance, he clearly had one thing on his mind.

‘The Kicking Machine’ was originally scheduled to face Rodtang Jitmuangnon at the event but the ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion pulled out a few days before the fight due to an injury he suffered in training.

Superlek isn’t just keen to rebook the fight and give the fans the striking superfight that they were promised, but he wants to try and compete for two-sport world champion status for himself.

After being scheduled to defend his world title against ‘The Iron Man’, ‘The Kicking Machine’ now wants his shot at the ONE flyweight Muay Thai world championship.

In his post-event interview, the Thai star said:

“Of course, I think I deserve to challenge him for the title. Rodtang is the number one in Muay Thai, so I would like to try that.”

Rodtang, meanwhile, is set to defend his world title against Mexico’s Edgar Tabares at ONE Fight Night 10 on Prime Video. You can guarantee that "The Kicking Machine" will have one eye watching closely.

ONE Fight Night 10 is ONE Championship’s first on-site event in the United States and will be available live and for free to North America via Prime Video.

Superlek has a message for Danial Williams after third-round KO win

At ONE Fight Night 8 on March 24, Superlek Kiatmoo9 had a late change of opponent that allowed him to stay on the card and defend his ONE flyweight kickboxing world championship for the first time.

Although fans were devastated to hear that the striking superfight would not take place, it was announced shortly after that Danial Williams would be stepping into the main event, allowing Superlek to still compete.

Whilst ‘Mini T’ may have been ultimately outclassed in the fight, there wouldn’t have been one in the first place without him.

In his post-event interview after stopping Williams with a third-round KO, ‘The Kicking Machine’ thanked his opponent for stepping up to the plate when ONE Championship needed him:

“I would like to thank him for accepting this fight last minute, I would like to say that he's a very strong fighter. I respect his heart. I respect his courage. I have nothing to say except thank you very much.”
