Thai superstar Superlek Kiatmoo9 said he had adjusted his game under the thin air present in higher-altitude Colorado, U.S.A., for his super title fight against Jonathan Haggerty next week.

'The Kicking Machine' will be challenging 'The General' for his ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world title in the headlining match at ONE 168: Denver on Sept. 6. He is out to chalk up a win that will make him a double world champion, in addition to the flyweight kickboxing belt already in his possession.

In an interview with the South China Morning Post, Superlek admitted that conditions in elevated Denver present added challenge to him but allayed fears about it, saying they worked on how to deal with it in training.

"So, we have adjusted the training. We have adjusted a lot on how we train, and we have used sports science to, just overall, make the training better and (get me) ready for the altitude that's changing. So I think we're ready."

Apart from adding another world title at ONE 168, Superlek is gunning to make it 2-0 in his head-to-head match-up with Haggerty. The two faced off back in 2018 prior to joining ONE Championship, with the Thai legend winning by TKO (Doctor stoppage/cut).

Meanwhile, Haggerty, who is also the bantamweight kickboxing champion, will be making his second consecutive defense of the Muay Thai gold he won in April last year.

ONE 168 will take place at the Ball Arena in Denver and air live and for free in U.S. primetime to North American fans with an active Amazon Prime Video subscription. Tickets for the event are available for purchase on Ticketmaster.

Superlek incorporates sports science in preparation for ONE 168

Apart from his traditional way of preparing for his fights, Superlek Kiatmoo9 decided to incorporate sports science to better prepare his body for his super title fight against Jonathan Haggerty at ONE 168: Denver on Sept. 6.

In a conversation with ONE Championship ahead of his upcoming all-champion showdown against Haggerty, the Thai superstar highlighted the importance of sports science in an athlete's training regimen and suggested that fellow fighters add it if possible.

The reigning ONE kickboxing king said:

"Every athlete should work with a nutritionist and a sports scientist. They can help you develop your potential in incredible ways. If you train alone without these two, you might reach a certain level, but with their help, you can take your performnace to the next level."

Heading into ONE 168: Denver, Superlek is packing a lot of heat, winning his last 10 matches, two coming in this year alone.
