ONE flyweight kickboxing world champion Superlek Kiatmoo9 is about to make the first defense of his world title in the main event of ONE Fight Night 8 this Friday. Despite having his opponent replaced at the last minute, Superlek is still primed and ready to fight anyone, anywhere, anytime.

Another fighter with the same mentality of not caring who he fights is the legendary Saenchai. In hardcore Muay Thai circles, the mere mention of Saenchai's name sends shivers down everyone's spine.

Saenchai boasts a staggering 327-49-2 pro record and has won the prestigious Lumpinee Stadium title in four different weight classes. He did so while fighting significantly larger men. In an interview with ONE Championship, Superlek Kiatmoo9 spoke highly of the Muay Thai legend:

"He [Saenchai] is a legend. I knew of him and saw him fight when I moved to Bangkok when I was still young. He can take out many big fighters in higher weight classes too. He could fight someone several pounds heavier than him, and that impressed me a lot."

Saenchai is largely considered by fans and fighters alike to be one of the greatest, if not the greatest, Muay Thai fighters, pound-for-pound, of all time. Just watching him fight and just toy with his opponents makes you understand the level of greatness he has. Superlek is right to look up to the former Lumpinee champion as his idol.

Superlek Kiatmoo9 faces Danial Williams at ONE Fight Night 8 after Rodtang pulls out due to injury

After losing his original headlining opponent, Rodtang Jitmuangnon, just mere days before their fight, Superlek Kiatmoo9 got a last-minute replacement in the form of Aussie firebrand Danial Williams. The bout with Rodtang was supposed to have been a champion vs. champion match for Superlek's ONE flyweight kickboxing world title.

ONE Championship announced the main event reshuffling on Instagram:

"With Rodtang out due to injury, 'Mini T' Danial Williams steps in on short notice to face Superlek for the ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World Title in the main event of ONE Fight Night 8 💥🥊 @dmini_t @superlek789"

Danial 'Mini T' Williams, who was originally slated to face Rui Botelho on the same card, is one of the most exciting fighters in ONE Championship today. Whether he is fighting in MMA, Muay Thai, or kickboxing, 'Mini T' brings the fight every night.

His upcoming bout for Superlek Kiatmoo9's ONE flyweight kickboxing world title will be Williams’ return to the striking realm in a while. The Aussie slugger had four fights in 2022, all under MMA rules. The last time 'Mini T' was in an all-striking contest was when he fought Rodtang Jitmuangnon to a decision in a Fight of the Year classic in 2021
