ONE flyweight kickboxing world champ Superlek Kiatmoo9 already has a long list of accomplishments to his name, which has allowed him to purchase a beautiful home in Thailand.

The 27-year-old striker entered ONE Championship in 2020—and he hasn't looked back—amassing a 7-1 record with an elbow finish over Walter Goncalves.

Superlek attained his first world title under ONE this past January, besting Spain's Daniel Puertas to snatch the vacant flyweight kickboxing belt. He then made his first successful defense by beating Danial Williams at ONE Fight Night 8 on Prime Video.

Superlek admits he had a difficult time adjusting to the kickboxing ruleset

The striker joined ONE Championship with an extensive background in Muay Thai, but after just one fight inside the Circle, Superlek transitioned to kickboxing. While speaking with the promotion, he admitted that the change was difficult, saying:

“Rodtang’s basics depend on punch and kick in a Muay Thai fight. He doesn’t use elbows that much. That’s why his style is compatible with kickboxing rules. He didn’t need to adjust. But for me, I had to adapt a lot. I am still concerned about how I accidentally use clinch, elbows, or knees in kickboxing.”

After picking up a win over Fahdi Khaled in his kickboxing debut, the Thai native challenged Ilas Ennahachi for flyweight gold, but he came up short.

Never losing faith, Superlek joined the Flyweight Muay Thai Grand Prix before facing Puertas for the vacant flyweight kickboxing title.

The champ was originally scheduled to face Rodtang Jitmuangnon in his first title defense at ONE Fight Night 8, but he was forced to withdraw due to an injury.

Superlek took everything in stride and put on a master showing against the late-replacement opponent, Danial Williams, knocking him out in the third round.

Be sure to check back with Sportskeeda MMA for an announcement pertaining to Superlek's next fight, as he looks to continue his reign atop the flyweight kickboxing division.
