ONE flyweight kickboxing world champion Superlek Kiatmoo9 may be the titleholder in his division, but he still believes that he has a lot of work to do.

In his training camps, ‘The Kicking Machine’ has been working alongside legendary striker Saenchai, who has helped him tailor his skillset to the kickboxing ruleset.

In a recent interview with ONE Championship, the world champion spoke about what it has been like for him to train under a true veteran of striking and where he has helped him to improve:

“Saenchai has taught me many things. He performs [techniques] very easily, but to me it’s hard as hell. He taught me a lot about the kickboxing stance, how to attack in kickboxing, how to add more power to my strikes, and so on. It’s like hard homework for me to try to attack more heavily and more accurately.”

At ONE Fight Night 8 on March 24, he will look to solidify his reign as the world champion by defending his kickboxing title for the first time. After his scheduled opponent Rodtang Jitmuangnon pulled out of the contest, he will now face Danial Williams as a late-notice replacement.

Superlek Kiamtoo9 to now face Danial Williams in the main event of ONE Fight Night 8

At ONE Fight Night 8, flyweight kickboxing world champion Superlek Kiatmoo9 was set for one of the biggest fights of his career to date.

In a true striking superfight, ‘The Kicking Machine’ was set to put his title on the line for the first time against flyweight Muay Thai king Rodtang Jitmuangnon.

With fans salivating at the prospect of seeing the two elite Thais throw down inside the circle, ONE Championship was forced to deliver the unfortunate news that Rodtang had suffered an injury in training and would therefore not be fighting on March 24.

In his place, Danial Williams has stepped in to save the main event and try to capitalize on a huge opportunity. After competing in MMA throughout the last year, ‘Mini T’ was set to make his return to striking competition at the event, taking on Rui Botelho in a Muay Thai contest.

Now, he will have the chance to face Superlek, one of the best in the world, for his championship.

ONE Fight Night 8 is live from the Singapore Indoor Stadium on March 24. The entire event will also air live and for free via Prime Video for North American viewers.
