Dante Leon arrived on the global stage in spectacular fashion, as he forced a tap out of promotional veteran Bruno Pucci in their ONE lightweight submission grappling match at ONE Fight Night 26 last week in front of the Lumpinee Stadium crowd in Bangkok, Thailand.

The Canadian BJJ black belter only needed 2:01 to secure the victory and begin his ONE Championship journey on the right note. ONE Championship published the winning moment for Leon on Instagram:

The 29-year-old athlete used Pucci's aggressiveness against him at the start of the bout, as he counted his takedown attempt by taking his back before gradually transitioning to the triangle armbar.

Dante Leon excited for the growth of submission grappling in ONE Championship

Following his victory, the Pedigo Submission Fighting representative gave an interview backstage to the promotion and expressed his excitement about the promotion's continuous expansion by signing other athletes.

Leon said:

"As I said in the interview, there are a lot of names out there that, you know, each week I see ONE posting that they've signed new people, and every single one that they've signed, it sparks some interest, whether it's to compete against or whether it's to see that person compete."
