T.J. Brown vs. Erik Silva: Height, weight, reach and UFC records comparison

Featherweights T.J. Brown and Erik Silva will clash in the early prelims of UFC 282. The fight will be the fifth promotional appearance for T.J. Brown, while Erik Silva will make his promotional debut in the bout. Both fighters received UFC contracts on Dana White's Contender Series.

UFC 282 will feature several blockbuster fights, including Paddy Pimblett vs. Jared Gordon in the co-main event and Jan Blachowicz vs. Magomed Ankalaev fighting for the vacant light heavyweight title in the main event.

Brown stands at 5'9" (175 cm) and has a reach of 72 inches. 'Downtown' last weighed in at 145.5 lbs in his fight against Shayilan Nuerdanbieke at UFC Vegas 57, where he lost via unanimous decision.

Brown's stint with the UFC began with Dana White's Contender Series 26, where he fought Dylan Lockard and submitted him via arm-triangle choke. The win earned 'Downtown' a UFC contract, and the featherweight made his promotional debut against Jordan Griffin at UFC Fight Night 169. He lost to Griffin via guillotine choke in the second round. Since fighting Griffin, Brown has gone 2-3 in the UFC with an overall MMA record of 16-9.

Erik Silva, not to be confused with former UFC welterweight Erick Silva, stands similar in height to T.J. Brown at 5'9" (175 cm) but gives up one inch in reach at 71 inches.

'King' last weighed in at 146 lbs against Anvar Boynazarov in the sixth season of Dana White's Contender Series and finished his opponent via ground-and-pound in the first round. After the win, Silva was awarded a UFC contract and will make his promotional debut against T.J. Brown in the early prelims of UFC 282. Silva has an overall MMA record of 9-1.

The bout between T.J. Brown and Erik Silva will be pivotal for both fighters as 'Downtown' will be looking for a spot back in the column, while Silva will look to make a statement in his UFC debut.

On paper, Brown has more experience with 25 career fights and six UFC bouts, including his DWCS win. Silva has 10 fights in total, including his DWCS win, and has 5/5 finishes within the first two rounds in his last five outings.

In terms of finishes, 'Downtown' has a more impressive overall record with four knockout wins and five submission victories. 'King' has two knockout wins and four submission victories. Skill-wise, and when it comes to attributes, both fighters seem evenly matched.

According to Odds Shark, Erik Silva is the betting favorite at -278 against T.J. Brown, who is the +200 betting underdog. Brown vs. Silva will take place in the early prelims of UFC 282 on December 10 at the T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada. The bout will be headlined by Jan Blachowicz and Magomed Ankalaev for the vacant light heavyweight title.
