"Take my legacy off me" - Liam Harrison on the reason Jonathan Haggerty keeps calling him out

British Muay Thai icon and former ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world title challenger 'Hitman' Liam Harrison and countryman 'The General' Jonathan Haggerty have often clashed heads over the past year.

Harrison has been in recovery period since a 2022 technical knockout loss to legendary Thai Nong-O Hama. During this time, Haggerty was able to scoop up the bantamweight Muay Thai and kickboxing belts to become a two-sport world champion.

'The General' has also called out Harrison on numerous occasions, but the 37-year-old English veteran says he can see right through the facade.

Speaking to talkSPORT MMA in a recent interview, Harrison shared why he thinks Haggerty is trying to come after him so hard.

'Hitman' said:

"He probably just thinks he can slip in row and take that [my legacy] off me. The Harrison when he was the same age as Jonathan is now - 25, 26 -owould obliterate him. It wouldn't last two rounds."

"He's probably just thinking, 'Oh Harrison's all down. I'll get an easy win here and I'll just take that legacy off him that he's created."

Harrison is set to return in a highly anticipated comeback fight this June, and the 37-year-old can't wait to get back in the swing of things. Perhaps he and Haggerty could meet in the ring after all.
