Takeru Segawa is one of the most exciting fighters in the world right now and during his time at the pinnacle of kickboxing, he has faced some great opponents.

However, there has always been a feeling that his true equal was out there but just out of reach for him.

Fans have spoken for a long time about the prospect of seeing the Japanese star collide with the biggest name in Muay Thai, Rodtang Jitmuangnon.

Both men are masters of their craft, who bring a superstar aura to everything that they. And, at long last, we will see them go head-to-head in 2025.

At ONE 172 on March 23 at the Saitama Super Arena, they will meet in a main event flyweight kickboxing clash over five rounds.

During the recent press conference to announce the fight, Takeru spoke about the amount of time that he has spent thinking about this particular matchup.

He will finally turn those thoughts into a reality in just a few months and that's something that gets 'The Natural Born Crusher' excited:

"I've been thinking about and training for Rodtang for years, figuring out how to win in a striking match. I believe we can have the greatest striking battle."

Takeru will have his hands full at ONE 172

Both Takeru Segawa and Rodtang Jitmuangnon do not back down from a fight once their fists start flying.

That's exactly why both of them have wanted this matchup for such a long time because they know that their opponent will not go running.

The former multi-division K-1 world champion wants to put on a classic fight for all of the fans and he knows that 'The Iron Man' will enter the ring with the same intentions to produce fireworks.

Moreover, it isn't just Takeru that has spent a long time thinking about this fight — fans have done the exact same to catch these two throw down in one should go down as a kickboxing war for the ages.
