Tammi Musumeci revealed that she was dealing with a great deal of anxiety ahead of her ONE Fight Night 12 clash with Amanda Alequin.
You certainly wouldn’t have known based on her performance, which was good enough to score a second-straight win under the ONE Championship banner. Musumeci, the sister of reigning ONE flyweight submission grappling world champion Mikey Musuemci, brought the fight to Alequin for 10 minutes, earning herself a unanimous decision victory.
In an interview with ONE Championship, Musumeci revealed that she was struggling to catch her breath before coming out for her sophomore appearance inside the legendary Lumpinee Boxing Stadium.
“So I definitely felt that I don't know if it was from anxiety. But I did,” Musumeci said. “I felt like I had a bunch of weight on my chest, which made it hard to breathe.”

Bagging another solid win, Tammi Musumeci could find herself in line for a shot at ONE Championship gold in the future as the promotion is set to crown the first-ever ONE atomweight women’s submission grappling world title at ONE Fight Night 14 on September 29. Scheduled to meet in the inaugural world title tilt are photogenic fan favorite Danielle Kelly and IBJJF world champion, Jessa Khan.
While Tammi Musumeci typically competes at strawweight, she has expressed a desire at dropping to atomweight, especially if it means sharing the Circle with grappling phenom Danielle Kelly.
