At ONE Fight Night 8 on Prime Video, Tammi Musumeci will step inside the circle for the first time.

Taking on Brazil’s Bianca Basilio for her ONE Championship debut, Tammi brings even more pedigree to ONE’s growing submission grappling roster.

Between Tammi and her younger brother Mikey Musumeci, the ONE flyweight submission grappling world champion, the two siblings have produced incredible careers as pro grapplers.

ONE Championship fans have already had the opportunity to watch Mikey demonstrate his skills inside the circle several times. Now, it’s time for his sister to showcase her abilities.

Having started training in jiu-jitsu at a young age, the Musumeci siblings have competed side-by-side with one another since the very start. Not only have they helped each other prepare for the biggest tournaments in the world, they have been elite-level sparring partners for one another throughout their martial arts journeys.

In an interview with ONE Championship, Tammi Musumeci spoke about the benefits of having a fellow elite grappler as her brother:

“I was in school. If I remember, we'd go to school, and then we [would] train. Some nights, we trained either at our gym or we trained at Marcelo Ribeiro. Then we started training under Emyr ‘Shark’ Bussade in Florida at American Top Team. So we trained on some nights there, and then we drilled at home. So he'd show me all the cool stuff he was working on like Berimbolo, 50-50, all those cool things. So it'd be like all those years, it was a lot of drilling with us. We drill a ton. Intense drilling as well.”

Tammi will face Basilio on March 24 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. The entire ONE Fight Night 8 card is available live and for free to all Prime Video subscribers in North America.

Tammi Musumeci admits she doesn’t want to pursue a full-time jiu-jitsu career

Tammi Musumeci has somewhat pumped the brakes on the anticipation of her ONE Championship debut.

At ONE Fight Night 8 on March 24, the older sister of ONE’s flyweight submission grappling world champion Mikey Musumeci will make her first walk to the circle. Despite all that she has accomplished as a submission grappling competitor, she doesn’t see herself deciding to make it a full-time career.

When she isn’t competing in the biggest grappling tournaments the world has to offer, Tammi Musumeci works as an attorney, swapping the suit for a gi when she gets the time.

In an interview with ONE Championship, she spoke about having other targets in mind that motivate her other than submission grappling, which have stopped her from making her hobby into a full-time career:

“I could never train full-time, even if I had the option,” Musumeci revealed. “I would just never do it. I also have goals outside of jiu-jitsu in my professional life that I want to reach. I just don’t ever put that as an option for myself to do.”

Live from the Singapore Indoor Stadium, ONE Fight Night 8 will feature Tammi Musumeci debut as she steps in to face ADCC and IBBJF world champion Bianca Basilio. The entire event will air live and for free for North American viewers via Prime Video.
