At ONE Fight Night 8, Tammi Musumeci will make her ONE Championship debut, adding to the promotion’s growing roster of elite submission grapplers.
Whilst Tammi has an incredible list of accolades throughout her career, ONE fans may be more familiar with the achievements of her younger brother Mikey Musumeci.
The holder of ONE’s flyweight submission grappling world championship will watch on as a proud younger brother on March 24, as his sibling makes her first appearance inside the circle.
Despite everything that she has already accomplished in her career, fans may be surprised to learn that Tammi does not train or compete full-time.

By day, she swaps the rashguard for a suit and works as a fully-qualified attorney after completing her law degree. In a recent interview with ONE Championship, she spoke about the reasons why she hasn’t decided to fully dedicate herself to submission grappling:
“I could never train full time. Even if I had the option, I wouldn't do it. I just didn't. I also have goals outside of jiu-jitsu in my professional life that I want to reach completely separate from jiu-jitsu. I just don't ever put that as an option for myself to do. I just want to anyway.”
Despite having other goals outside of grappling, Tammi always makes sure that it is part of her life as she pursues other interests.
Tammi Musumeci has ‘always been partners’ with Mikey Musumeci
Both Mikey and Tammi Musumeci have had the benefit of also having a sibling competing in submission grappling throughout their lives.
After they both fell in love with Brazilian jiu-jitsu at a young age, they have been able to have a constant sparring partner as they lived in the same house. Together, they have gone through the ranks and won a lot of accolades.
At ONE Fight Night 8, Tammi will follow in the footsteps of her younger brother, flyweight submission grappling world champion Mikey Musumeci. With her debut set for March 24, she will take on Brazil’s Bianca Basilio.
In a recent interview with ONE Championship, Tammi Musumeci spoke about the benefits of having another elite competitor in submission grappling as her younger brother. She said:
"We’ve always been partners. We’re still training partners. We’d train at different gyms, but we’ve always trained with each other on the side as well by ourselves, which I felt helped me a ton because he’d work with me even when he was a blue belt or a kid."
Fans in North America can catch Tammi Musumeci’s first match in the circle and more at ONE Fight Night 8. Action will be broadcast live and for free via Prime Video with an active Amazon subscription.
