At ONE Fight Night 8 this past weekend, Tammi Musumeci made her first appearance inside the circle.
Having signed with ONE Championship as one of submission grappling’s top female competitors, Musumeci lived up the hype in Singapore, securing a win against Bianca Basilio on her promotional debut.
Tammi knew somewhat to expect thanks to her younger brother Mikey Musumeci being one of the key figures in ONE’s submission grappling roster. The ONE flyweight submission grappling world champion has helped to establish the promotion in this particular field.
After experiencing it for herself, she has echoed the values and opinions of her brother, believing that ONE isn’t just the home of some of the world's best grapplers, but the best martial artists of all kinds.

In her post-event interview following her unanimous decision win over Basilio, she said:
“I’m very thankful to be a part of this. This is the highest level in competition and even when meeting the athletes, they’re all super cool and it’s just a cool group of people.”
Tammi will be hoping that, just like her sibling, she can help to elevate the promotion’s grappling roster and break down barriers for more competitors to follow through.
Mikey Musumeci shares happiness for sister Tammi Musumeci’s debut win in ONE Championship
At ONE Fight Night 8, Tammi Musumeci had to prove that she hasn’t just got the talent needed to be an elite submission grappler, she has the determination.
In her ONE Championship debut, Tammi defeated Bianca Basilio via unanimous decision to secure her first win inside the circle. Appearing surprised by the result once it was announced, Tammi had to prove that she isn’t just a grappler in this contest, she’s a fighter.

"Tammi wins her @onechampionship debut!!!! So freaking proud of her. 😭She wakes up 4:30 am everyday to do cardio before working as a lawyer, does stairs in the middle of the day at her job, and then trains at night immediately after work!
"No one works harder than my sister. She inspires me so much. Can’t wait for us to be on the same card together ❤️. I want to thank @rlo702jj for helping her prepare while I was overseas; he is an amazing coach and friend."
