Tang Kai thanks ONE Championship for life-changing world title: “I have provided a better life for my family”

Reigning and undisputed ONE featherweight MMA world champion Tang Kai of China says becoming a world champion in the world's largest martial arts organization has been life-changing.

Although he believes people close to him haven't treated him any differently, he's still the same, hard-working fighter as before. Tang says the financial windfall from his earnings in ONE Championship has changed his family's life for the better.

The featherweight MMA king told the world's largest martial arts organization:

"Actually it hasn’t changed that much, because training is still my daily life, but it has a significant change to my family. I have provided a better life for my family after I became the champ. So thank you, ONE Championship, for all the support."

Tang won the gold in August of 2022, defeating Thanh Le by unanimous decision. He then defeated Thanh Le again earlier this year via a three-round technical knockout.

Now, Tang returns to action to defend the featherweight strap once more.

Chinese MMA star Tang Kai returns to the Circle to defend his ONE featherweight MMA world title against dangerous Kyrgyzstani fighter Akbar Abdullaev.

The two lock horns in the main event of ONE Fight Night 27: Tang vs. Abdullaev on Prime Video, which broadcasts live in U.S. primetime from the historic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand on Friday, Jan. 10.
