This Friday, kickboxing divisional king Superlek Kiatmoo9 will no longer lock horns with Rodtang Jitumuangnon but with Danial Williams at ONE Fight Night 8 on Prime Video. Although the news comes as a shock, a Superlek vs. Williams showdown is the next best thing.

Muay Thai bantamweight king Tawanchai PK Saenchai is stoked to see how the two strikers will match up this Friday since they both have a history of putting on great performances. In this case, however, he leans towards his friend to beat Danial Williams, but not without some type of challenge. Speaking to ONE Championship, the 23-year-old star predicted:

“I, personally, like Danial. He is a tough fighter. He has a strong heart and heavy weapons. But I think Superlek is superior than him in terms of experience and physical advantages. His right kick is deadly. I think Superlek will win this fight but may not get KO because Danial is the tough one.”

Williams enters the kickboxing scene with nothing to lose but with everything to gain. He was originally slated to face Portuguese striker Rui Bolteho in a Muay Thai battle at strawweight, before being asked to fill in as a replacement for Rodtang only a few days ago. Despite coming into the foray with a list of disadvantages, he’s willing to put in the work for a chance to win a world title.

Danial Williams tells Superlek he’s coming for the win

‘Mini-T’ Danial Williams is enjoying the little time he has to get under Superlek’s skin before they meet inside the circle this Friday.

Williams is coming off of a 5-month break after suffering a devastating TKO loss to Jeremy Miado at ONE on Prime Video 3 last year. Prior to his defeat, ‘Mini-T’ had a string of wins in MMA to establish himself amongst the most dangerous strikers of his division.

He’s known for his aggressive, high-volume fighting style, which could cause a lot of trouble for Superlek who likes to fight at his own pace. To prove he’s unafraid of Superlek, Williams sent the Pattaya-bred fighter the following message on Instagram:

“The pressure is on you, absolutely not me. I’m gonna give you an absolute war. I know you guys wanted to see the Rodtang-Superlek, so I’m gonna make this way more exciting. I’m coming for the win, that belt is mine.”
