Tawanchai PK Saenchai wants his newfound rivalry with Superbon to keep on rolling.

The reigning ONE featherweight Muay Thai world champion will defend his throne against Superbon at the stacked ONE 170 card on Friday, January 24, at Impact Arena.

While the stakes are already through the roof for his Bangkok showdown against Superbon, Tawanchai wants to up the ante with the current ONE featherweight kickboxing world champion.

During the card's press conference, Tawanchai said he plans to continue building his momentum in kickboxing and challenge his fellow Thai megastar for the division's strap.

"Yes, this is my new dream, to have a kickboxing belt under my name as well. Superbon has competed in my rule set in Muay Thai, now I want a chance to compete in kickboxing to get his belt as well," said Tawanchai.

The 25-year-old superstar has reigned atop the featherweight Muay Thai division since September 2022 when he beat Petchmorakot Petchyindee for the throne at ONE 161.

Tawanchai has since defended the ONE featherweight Muay Thai world championship three times against Jamal Yusupov, Superbon, and Jo Nattawut.

In the middle of that reign, Tawanchai jumped to kickboxing where he shattered Davit Kira's right arm at ONE Fight Night 13 and figured in an absolute barnburner against Natawut at ONE Fight Night 15.

Before his dream of two-sport supremacy takes root, though, Tawanchai has to get past Superbon in a sequel of their ONE Friday Fights 46 showcase from December 2023.

Tawanchai says he won't push his aggression to its limits against Superbon

Tawanchai knows Superbon needs just one opening to send any fight into a knockout finish.

Aware of the danger that the ONE featherweight kickboxing has, Tawanchai said he'll be more technical when he defends his ONE featherweight Muay Thai world title for the second time against Superbon.

Tawanchai said during the ONE 170 media day:

"I don’t know where it’s going, but I believe it will be exciting. We have different styles. We are not aggressive fighters who are throwing punches around randomly. So I’m being careful. I’ve prepared some tricks for him as well."
