Tawanchai PK.Saenchai on sending Jamal Yusupov into retirement: “Tune in and find out”

ONE featherweight Muay Thai world champion Tawanchai PK.Saenchai has a great deal of respect for his ONE Fight Night 7 challenger Jamal Yusupov.

So much so, that he’s not buying into the narrative that ‘Yeneceri’s advanced age will be his downfall in their match this Friday, February 24, inside the iconic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

The entire card will air live in US primetime and free for Amazon Prime Video subscribers in the United States and Canada.

In the build-up to Tawanchai PK.Saenchai’s first world title defense, he was asked about possibly sending his 39-year-old foe into retirement with an earth-shattering knockout in front of a passionate Thai crowd.

The unassuming 23-year-old, however, would rather let his performance speak for itself. The Thai hero told ONE Championship in his pre-event interview:

“I don't really want to say much about it. I want everyone to tune in and find out what will happen on the 24th of February. That will be better.”

Even with his world-class striking skills and stunning accolades at such a young age, Tawanchai remains the same humble person he has always been.

The PK.Saenchai Muay Thai Gym star has displayed the grace of a true world champion ever since he dethroned Petchmorakot Petchyindee to become the best featherweight Muay Thai fighter in the world.

Moreover, Tawanchai has always been wise beyond his years, which shows how he carries himself inside and outside the circle. And despite the 16-year age gap between the two, Tawanchai knows he’ll have his hands full against the second-ranked featherweight Muay Thai contender

Yusupov earned his shot the hard way by going unbeaten in his first three fights in the promotion. In his promotional debut, the Turkish slugger decimated Yodsanklai IWE before outlasting Samy Sana and Jo Nattawut.

As far as Tawanchai PK.Saenchai is concerned, age is just a number, and he’ll be prepared for any surprises that Yusupov may bring this coming Friday.
