ONE featherweight Muay Thai champion Tawanchai believes a match against Thai contender Superbon Singha Mawynn would be exciting for him and the fans.

While a bout between Tawanchai and Superbon would be a world-class showing of striking, the champ is currently focused on defending his belt at ONE Fight Night 7 on Prime Video.

The 23-year-old is slated to face Russian contender Jamal Yusupov, who is a perfect 3-0 since joining ONE Championship in 2019.

Beyond his next bout, though, the P.K. Saenchai Muaythaigym affiliate is welcoming any and all challengers to his throne, including Superbon. He told the promotion:

"As a Muay Thai world champion, I’m not scared of anyone. However, I respect him [Superbon]. He’s a great fighter, and is also someone you have to be cautious when facing him. It’d be an exciting fight if we face each other."

Superbon is the former ONE featherweight kickboxing champ and one of the premier strikers in the organization. He's currently the top featherweight kickboxing and Muay Thai contender.

ONE Fight Night 7 is live and free on Prime Video.

Tawanchai has been working hard on himself since signing with ONE Championship in 2021

Since signing with ONE, Tawanchai has evolved into one of the top pound-for-pound fighters on the roster. Still young, he aims to improve himself with each outing, telling the promotion:

“Since I joined ONE, I’ve been working hard on myself. I know which parts of me need change. I’ve identified my strengths and what the fans like, then adjusted accordingly. I’d do anything to improve myself, to fill in any hole I may have.”

In five appearances, the Thai striker has picked up four victories over Sean Clancy, Saemapetch Fairtex, Niclas Larsen, and Petchmorakot Petchyindee Academy to secure featherweight gold.

His second-round knockout over Larsen earned him a $50,000 performance bonus in what was his third knockout inside the circle.

Make sure to tune in to ONE Fight Night 7 on February 24 to watch Tawanchai attempt to defend his featherweight Muay Thai title against Jamal Yusupov, live from the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium.

The entire event is live and free to watch for North American audiences with an active Prime subscription.
