Tawanchai PK Saenchai is ready to take his shot at two-sport supremacy. First, he must take care of his impending world title defense against a fellow world champion.

The reigning ONE featherweight Muay Thai world champion will defend his throne against Superbon in the main event of the stacked ONE 170 card on Friday at Impact Arena.

Tawanchai's impending super fight against Superbon will be the second time he puts his gold on the line against the now-reigning ONE featherweight kickboxing world champion.

In an interview with Nick Atkin, Tawanchai said it's crucial for his legacy to retain the featherweight Muay Thai gold in Bangkok.

He added that once he defends his throne, he'll be the one to mount the next challenge in hopes of dethroning Superbon off the top of the featherweight kickboxing division.

"This is the second time he will be trying to steal the belt from me. It’s very important for me to keep this belt and also very important for me to go over there and steal his belt."

The pair of Thai megastars put on one of the greatest Muay Thai fights of the decade when they squared off in the main event of ONE Friday Fights 46 in December 2023.

The hallowed Lumpinee Stadium provided the perfect backdrop for the future icons, with the Bangkok crowd singing to every strike Superbon and Tawanchai threw at each other.

Ultimately, Tawanchai's pressure was enough to earn him the hard-fought majority decision over Superbon.

Tawanchai predicts another classic against Superbon at ONE 170

The first world title match between Superbon and Tawanchai showcased pure Muay Thai talent, and the reigning ONE featherweight Muay Thai world champion believes the sequel will be just as entertaining as the first showing.

During media day for ONE 170, Tawanchai said he and Superbon wouldn't be overly aggressive against each other, but promised that their second matchup would feature all the bells and whistles they're fully capable of unleashing:

"I don’t know where it’s going, but I believe it will be exciting. We have different styles. We are not aggressive fighters who are throwing punches around randomly. So I’m being careful. I’ve prepared some tricks for him as well."
