Tawanchai's run in ONE Championship
Tawanchai started his ONE Championship tenure with a third-round knockout against Sean Clancy in May 2021. Three months later, the featherweight Muay Thai world champion suffered his lone promotional defeat, a split decision against Sitthichai.
The Thai superstar bounced back with consecutive knockouts against Samapetch and Niclas Larsen, leading to his title shot against Petchmorakot.
Tawanchai defeated Petchmorakot by unanimous decision in September 2022. At the beginning of 2023, he defended his throne for the first time, a 49-second knockout win against Jamal Yuspov.
The 25-year-old went to kickboxing in 2023 for two fights, defeating Davit Kiria (first-round knockout) and Jo Nattawut (unanimous decision. He's since returned to Muay Thai for two more wins against Superbon and Nattawut.
At ONE 170, Tawanchai looks to further prove he's one of the greatest strikers in ONE Championship history.
