Thai striker Tawanchai is gearing up for his first featherweight Muay Thai world title defense. Ahead of it, he's promised to display an even better version of himself.

The PK Saenchai Muay Thai Gym affiliate is scheduled to face Jamal Yusupov at ONE Fight Night 7 on Prime Video. It will be Tawanchai's first bout since attaining the belt from Petchmorakot Petchyindee Academy last September.

A winner of three straight, the 23-year-old phenom plans on showcasing the best version of himself to date. He told ONE Championship:

"You’ll definitely see a new and improved version of me, not only this year, but also in the years to come. I’ll keep showing the world the beauty of authentic Muay Thai striking techniques."

His next opponent, Yusupov, is a perfect 3-0 in ONE Muay Thai contests. He most recently defeated Jo Nattawut via unanimous decision last July.

Tawanchai says he's always in a constant pursuit of improving as a fighter

The Muay Thai champ has been impressive throughout the course of his young career. Despite being just 23 years old, he has already competed in over 150 bouts.

He told ONE that he's always seeking self improvement:

“Since I joined ONE, I’ve been working hard on myself. I know which parts of me need change. I’ve identified my strengths and what the fans like, then adjusted accordingly. I’d do anything to improve myself, to fill in any hole I may have.”

Boasting a 4-1 record inside the circle, the featherweight champ owns finishes over Sean Clancy, Saemapetch Fairtex, and Niclas Larsen.

The featherweight Muay Thai world title bout will be the first of two world championship fights to take place at ONE Fight Night 7. The second will be a rematch between Fabricio Andrade and John Lineker for the vacant bantamweight strap.

Fans can see Tawanchai look to defend his featherweight Muay Thai world title against Jamal Yusupov at ONE Fight Night 7 on February 24, live from the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

The entire event is live and free to watch for North American audiences with an active Prime subscription.
