Reigning ONE featherweight Muay Thai world champion Tawanchai PK Saenchai is also setting his sights on the incredible achievement of becoming a two-sport world champion by hinting at his path towards it.
Tawanchai's upcoming match will be against current ONE featherweight kickboxing king Superbon, who challenges him for his Muay Thai crown on Jan. 24 at ONE 170 in front of their home fans at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand.
Once Tawanchai fends off this second attempt of the 34-year-old veteran, he laid down a possible trilogy match with him, reversing their roles and becoming the challenger for Superbon's 26-pound golden belt.
The 25-year-old superstar talked about this during the ONE 170 media day, where he stated:

"Just let me train for two to three months. I'm confident I can adapt to the rules and fight for the title."

Tawanchai is fresh off a close majority decision win over Jo Nattawut last June 2024 at ONE 167 to retain his status as the unquestioned king of the weight class.

Speaking of his most recent outing against 'Smokin' Jo, the PK Saenchai Muaythaigym athlete revealed that he was bothered by an injury during that second bout.
Tawanchai stated this in another recent interview, where he explained when the injury occurred and how he managed to finish the match and eventually pull off the victory:
"Many things I didn't show in my last fight because I got injured in the eye around the middle of the third round. So for that last two rounds, I was just fighting on instinct, pure heart."
