Teddy Atlas, former boxing coach of Mike Tyson, has compared Alex Pereira's iconic 'stare' to some of the greats of the boxing world. Pereira is set to headline the upcoming UFC 303 card this weekend in a rematch against Jiri Prochazka.

The pair agreed on the short-notice bout following Conor McGregor's injury and will run back their UFC 295 clash. In their first outing, which was for the then vacant 205-pound title, 'Poatan' shocked the world by finishing 'Denisa' in the second round, handing him his first loss in the UFC.

Ahead of Alex Pereira's rematch against Jiri Prochazka, Teddy Atlas, who is working as an analyst at UFC 303, discussed the Brazilian's demeanor on the ESPN MMA YouTube channel.

Atlas specifically noted Pereira's unbreaking stare at his opponents during the ceremonial weigh-ins and whilst standing across from them in the octagon. He likened it to boxing greats such as Mike Tyson, Sonny Listen, and George Foreman, believing that it signifies that Pereira is locked in and his opponent should be ready for war.

Atlas explained:

"The stare, the look. Sonny Liston, George Foreman, Mike Tyson. They all had that look. It's the look of Dr. Doom, a realisation behind it that it's Dooms Day. It matches up with what you've seen, it matches up with the action in the ring, it matches up with the damage and then you see that and feel that, this is real. This is really Dr. Doom."

Max Holloway predicts Alex Pereira vs. Jiri Prochazka II

BMF champ Max Holloway has weighed in on UFC 303's main event and given the edge to Jiri Prochazka when he faces Alex Pereira once again.

The two light heavyweight stars first collided at UFC 295 last year, with Pereira picking up the win on the night via a second-round TKO. The pair have both gone on to win their next fights, with 'Poatan' defeating Jamahal Hill and 'Denisa' putting away Aleksandar Rakic.

'Blessed' recently discussed the upcoming rematch on his YouTube channel, where he revealed he believes the time is now for Prochazka. According to Holloway, the Czech star has been focused on this fight since UFC 300, whereas Pereira has been distracted, fulfilling champion duties. He explained:

"Jiri was in his hut right after UFC 300 training for a fight, training for something...Mr. Pereira, on the other hand, was on the opposite side of the world doing world tours...If I had to tell you guys that the time to get Alex Pereira, the time would be now, bro. I mean, full camp both guys, anybody can win a fight. This is MMA, brother."
