Terence Crawford recently discussed a potential super fight against Canelo Alvarez and what the contested weight would likely be for their bout. The potential clash has been talked about for quite some time and appears to be likely to transpire.
Both competitors have incredible legacies in boxing and are among the top active pound-for-pound fighters in the world. 'Bud' currently has an unbeaten 40-0 professional record and has won championships in three different divisions, while Alvarez has a 61-2-2 professional record and has won championships in four different divisions.
During his appearance on today's episode of The MMA Hour, the 36-year-old discussed whether a bout against Alvarez could materialize in the near future. Crawford mentioned that it is a possibility under the Riyadh Season banner and would see him move up to 168-pounds. He said:
"Being where I'm at right now, I'm looking at the fight that makes the most sense...Canelo [Alvarez] is gonna bring way more to my legacy...to my bank account because at the end of the day if boxing is done with, what would we have? I want to have a legacy that's something that people talk about for the ages...We'll have to see [if Alvarez the next fight after Aug.3]...168[-pounds would be the weight]."
