WBA champion Terence Crawford is eyeing a fight with WBO and WBC super welterweight champion Sebastian Fundora. In a recent interview, 'Bud' took aim at the young champion and alleged he was knocked out by Israil Madrimov in sparring, the man Crawford defeated to win the WBA title in August.
Fundora's promoter, Sampson Lewkowicz, recently indicated that 'The Towering Inferno' had shifted his focus away from a clash with Errol Spence Jr., which appeared likely following his WBO and WBC title fight victory over Tim Tszyu.
Crawford's debut at 154 pounds saw him defeat Madrimov in a competitive clash. However, there were many critics of his performance, who felt that 'Bud' was not physically large enough to deal with his newfound weight division.
But Crawford had some words of his own for any potential doubters, including Fundora, as he said this during an interview with Bernie Tha Boxer:

"If Fundora is licking his chops over my performance with Madrimov, I should be licking my chops because Madrimov knocked Fundora out in sparring. So who should be licking their chops? That's what I heard, don't quote me on it, because that's what I heard. I'm speculating off of what somebody else said."

Terence Crawford given more time to negotiate deal for Sebastian Fundora fight
According to Boxing Scene, Terence Crawford's attorney, Harrison Whitman, sent a request on Sept. 30 for an extension period of ten days to complete negotiations for a deal to fight Sebastian Fundora, which has been approved by the WBO.
With Crawford having expressed his desire to become the undisputed super welterweight champion, he will be delighted at the extension period being granted.
TalkSPORT boxing editor, Michael Benson, recently took to X to share news of the WBO's decision, writing this:
"The WBO have now officially granted a 1-day extension for Terence Crawford vs. Sebastian Fundora negotiations. The fight was ordered as Fundora has WBC and WBO super welterweight world titles while Crawford has the WBA super welterweight world title and the WBO 'interim' belt."
