Christian Lee became a two-division world champion at ONE on Prime Video 4, delivering, in a way, his most impressive victory yet.
Meeting former welterweight king Kiamrian Abbasov in the evening’s main event, ‘The Warrior’ looked like he had bitten off more than he could chew in the early going when Abbasov’s power nearly put him away early.
Going into survival mode, Lee relied on his mental and physical strength to get through the danger and, as we now know, was able to turn it around, scoring the biggest win of his career.
Following the victory, Christian Lee discussed his mental and physical training, not just for Friday night, but throughout his career, during a post-fight interview with ONE Championship:

“I believe that my physical strength came from my training, my preparation, the thousands of rounds that I'm doing in the gym, and the hours of training. But on the mental side, that came from a different preparation.”
Christian Lee continued, saying:
“That came from the experience of fighting for the last eight years, from doing this my whole life, from learning from my mistakes, and everything that I've experienced over the past few years has led me to build up the mindset that I have. It was able to allow me to dig deep, and push when it really comes down to it.”

Christian Lee not happy with his performance against Kiamrian Abbasov
Heading into his world title fight with Kiamrian Abbasov at ONE on Prime Video 4, the most important thing to Christian Lee was maintaining his strength without compromising his speed. In some ways, ‘The Warrior’ believes he failed in that aspect.
Despite delivering a potential Fight of the Year contender and a spectacular fourth-round finish, Lee believes things could have gone better, particularly with his conditioning throughout the contest:
"I felt a little bit slow. I felt a little bit sluggish in there. I definitely don't think that it was my best performance. I know that I can do better. But I got to go back and I got to watch the fight to really see. Right after a long fight like that, it's hard to see things clearly."
Though everyone can agree that the two fighters delivered a highly-entertaining war of attrition last Friday night, Christian Lee will need to address cardio concerns if he hopes to continue competing in the welterweight division.
