ONE interim strawweight MMA world champion Jarred Brooks wants nothing more than to compete for the vacant ONE flyweight MMA world title and achieve his dream of becoming a two-division ONE world champion.
With a victory over fourth-ranked contender Reece McLaren in his flyweight debut in a couple of weeks, Brooks may be able to punch his ticket to a shot at the divisional throne.
He even has a potential opponent and a venue in his mind. Speaking to the YouTube channel, The MMA Superfan, in a recent interview, Brooks said he wants Japanese star Yuya Wakamatsu for the flyweight gold in Tokyo.

'The Monkey God' said:
"You know, in Japan, Japan is absolutely huge in mixed martial arts. This is pretty much a flyweight Grand Prix without being a flyweight Grand Prix right now. So I would love it if Yuya Wakamatsu won that fight and they want to fight me and Yuya for the title in Japan, that would be huge. I love Japan, man. Japan's absolutely awesome. It's right up there with the Philippines."
If Brooks can defeat McLaren in a pivotal flyweight showdown in a couple of weeks' time, the American could very well find himself in pole position to vie for the weight class' gold.
