"That's a cold f*ckin caption" - Fans react to Nick Diaz's ominous 'obituary-esque' post referencing Vicente Luque 

MMA fans have been reacting to Nick Diaz's latest post on Instagram, which shows the UFC star sending an ominous message to his upcoming opponent Vicente Luque.

The pair were originally scheduled to face-off in August, however, travel issues for the Stockton native meant the fight had to be rescheduled. The pair will instead step into the octagon at UFC 310 on Dec. 7.

When Diaz steps into the cage against Luque, it will mark only his second appearance for the UFC since 2015. The 41-year-old had previously returned to action last year against Robbie Lawler, but his dream comeback was cut short after he retired from the fight during the third round.

For Luque, the Brazilian is hoping to turn around a bout of mixed form, which has seen him only win one of his last four outings in the octagon. Most recently, he suffered a second-round TKO loss to Joaquin Buckley in March.

With the pair now officially locked in for their bout and at the beginning of their respective fight camps, Diaz recently posted a video on his social media. In the caption, Nick Diaz suggested the day of their fight will be Vicent Luque's last:

"11/27/1991 - 12/7/2024"

Nick Diaz responds to a fan who asked him to box Conor McGregor

Nick Diaz appears to have denied he has any interest in facing Conor McGregor, or anybody else, inside the squared circle.

Ahead of his upcoming bout against Vicente Luque, Diaz has been regularly posting training footage across his social media. Throughout his videos, the Stockton native has appeared to focus on his striking and padwork, leading to some fans thinking he could make it in a boxing ring.

Recently, one fan commented on the above video and asked Diaz if he would box McGregor, should the opportunity ever arise. According to Diaz, however, he is focused on MMA for now.

The fan wrote:

"Why not box man you should box Conor"

Nick Diaz responded:

"I’m stuck in the cage…. For now."
