Listening to former ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion Jonathan Haggerty hit pads is like hearing a shotgun going off. The impact he produces with his roundhouse kicks sounds like they can break a rib or two upon impact.
In a video released by ONE Championship to Instagram, Jonathan Haggerty displayed the otherworldly power of his switch-roundhouse kick to the body:
"Keep on kicking on 🦵 "The General" is ready for BATTLE on April 21 when he challenges Nong-O Hama for the ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Championship at ONE Fight Night 9 on Prime Video! 🏆 @jhaggerty_"

Jonathan Haggerty motivated to win second world title after losing first back in 2019
In his pursuit of a second world title in a higher weight class, Jonathan Haggerty drew motivation from how he lost his first. The former ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion posted about his long and difficult road back to world title contention again. 'The General' dropped his flyweight Muay Thai belt to Rodtang Jitmuangnon back in 2019 and failed to win it back in a rematch the following year.
The back-to-back losses seemed to have lit the fire from underneath Jonathan Haggerty. Since then, however, 'The General' has gone on a four-fight winning streak. His three wins in ONE Championship and an ISKA Muay Thai lightweight world title win got Haggerty a new shot at the belt. The fighting Brit is now scheduled to face ONE bantamweight world champion Nong-O Hama at ONE Fight Night 9 on April 21.
In an inspiring Instagram post by Haggerty himself, the British Muay Thai star wrote about his long and storied comeback:
"2019, the year I lost my @onechampionship world title. We’ve been grinding non stop beating everyone they’ve put in front of me. I have dreamed about holding that world title again and on April 22nd I finally get my chance to make history again. Thank you everyone for the continued support you have shown me through out the years ❤️ #ANDTHENEW #2X"
ONE Fight Night 9 will air live and for free to all Prime Video subscribers in North America.
