MMA fans voiced their opinions after watching Francis Ngannou travel down memory lane to remember his devastating KO victory over Alistair Overeem. Ngannou reminded the MMA community that he had scored this brutal KO exactly seven years ago on this day.
Ngannou locked horns against Overeem at the co-main event of UFC 218 on Dec. 2, 2017. 'The Demolition Man' decided to close the distance by clinching with Ngannou in the initial minute of the fight. However, the referee intervened after sensing inactivity, leading the two heavyweights to engage in a wild throw-down of strikes.
Overeem may have landed the first shot in the engagement, but it didn't have much effect due to its poor placement. Ngannou countered with a powerful left hook that flatlined Overeem and earned him a KO victory at 1:42 of the first round.
'The Predator' posted an X update a few hours back, reminding his fans that this day marks the seventh anniversary of his brutal KO victory over Overeem.
