When it comes to entertainment, former three-division K-1 world champion Takeru Segawa packs plenty of that. In fact, the Japanese sensation, who plies his trade under the ONE Championship banner, admits that is his main priority whenever he steps inside the ring.
'The Natural Born Crusher' hopes to bring a similar display of courage and heart when he takes to the global stage for his sophomore outing at ONE Friday Fights 81 inside the revered Lumpinee Stadium on Sept. 27. There, the Team Vasileus fighter seeks a bounce-back victory at the expense of Burmese striking dynamo Thant Zin.
When talking about what sparks a fire in his heart whenever he gets ready for war, Takeru told ONE Championship that putting on a show for the fans is right at the top of his to-do list.
The 33-year-old shared:

"I don't know about fighters in general. But, for me, martial arts is something I love and enjoy very much. My joy is to have the audience see me enjoying the fight to the fullest.
"That's what makes me happiest as a fighter. So I want to enjoy the fight with all my might."
Takeru's heart and courage showed in ONE debut vs. Superlek
Though some of his newer set of fans won't be accustomed to his past expeditions in Japan, his debut display against 'The Kicking Machine' Superlek Kiatmoo9 at ONE 165 in Tokyo, Japan, this past January certainly showed that he guarantees entertainment whenever he fights.
Despite being forced to take one shot after another from the Thai sensation, the Japanese warrior never once took a step back, going on the hunt for a finish whenever he found a window of opportunity.
Unfortunately, Superlek's power and accuracy got the better of him, but Takeru hopes to impress again — and leave the ring with his hand raised – when he squares off against Thant Zin in a matter of days.
