Terence Crawford vs. Canelo Alvarez is a matchup that the boxing world has been interested in for some time now. According to a recent interview Crawford's coach took part in with Ring Magazine, the matchup will not include a rehydration clause that would hamper Alvarez's ability in the fight.
Brian 'BoMac' McIntyre, who serves as 'Bud's' trainer, rubished the rehydration clause, describing it in unfavorable terms, especially given that Alvarez fights in heavier weight classes than Crawford and would be depleted if restricted to a certain weight limit come fight night.
"That's some p*ssy sh*t. That's some weak sh*t. 'Oh, you can't come in this much,' man get the f*** out of here, it's boxing. You got on the scale, I made the weight, regardless of what I come back as. You accepted the fight, let's get in there and fight like men. Simple as that."

Both Crawford and Alvarez are at the top of their game, with both men being multi-division world champions. However, the difference is that Crawford remains undefeated at 41-0, while Alvarez is currently 62-2-2, with his only losses coming against the great Floyd Mayweather Jr. and pound-for-pound elite Dmitry Bivol.
A matchup with Alvarez has been an end-goal for Crawford, who has been challenging the pound-for-pound legend for some time now, with the backing of Saudi sports minister Turki Alalshikh. Unfortunately, the Mexican star has been largely disinterested in the bout, demanding an absurd purse.
So, despite strong interest from the Crawford camp, there is no movement from an official standpoint.
Terence Crawford has been accused of weight-draining an opponent in the past
One of the most defining fights of Terence Crawford's career was his matchup with Errol Spence Jr. two years ago. Ahead of the bout, many were expecting it to be 'Bud's' most challenging test. Instead, he passed with flying colors, completely dominating Spence en route to a 9th round TKO.

However, after the fight, Crawford was accused by many in the boxing world of weight-draining Spence. Now, though, with a potential blockbuster fight with Canelo Alvarez, his coach is asserting that he won't do so with the Mexican legend.
