Reigning and undisputed ONE women's atomweight MMA world champion Stamp Fairtex of Thailand tried to hasten her recovery so she could make it to ONE 169: Atlanta in November.

Unfortunately, her body needs extra time to heal so she can come back a hundred percent.

After injuring herself in training earlier this year with a torn meniscus, Stamp had surgery and went into immediate rehab. That process, however, has proven to be a delicate one, as the 26-year-old is still on the mend.

Stamp eyed a quick turnaround, and planned to make a comeback at ONE 169: Atlanta on Nov. 8. But it's looking like that will not happen.

Speaking to veteran reporter Nick Atkin in Bangkok at ONE Friday Fights 81 fight week, Stamp talked about her recovery.

The 26-year-old Fairtex Training Center product said:

"Yeah, I’m really sad because my fans kept asking “where are you?” and all I can say is that i’m very sorry. That’s really sad not to be there. For sure, I wanted to show up for everyone and fight."

Stamp should take all the time she needs to return to the best of her abilities. While she cannot make it to ONE 169, there is a strong possibility Stamp will be ready to go for a big event in December.

Stamp Fairtex eyes return to training in October: "I can do boxing now"

As soon as she's cleared to go full contact in the gym, Stamp Fairtex will waste no time and step back into the ring at the earliest possible moment.

At one point this year, Stamp was seen relearning how to walk properly, striking doubt into the hearts of many that she would be back in the ring this year. But the 26-year-old says she is getting stronger by the day and can return to the gym soon.

She told ONE Championship:

"I think I’ll return to Fairtex in late October. I’ll try some light training. I can do boxing now."
